Hello!

My name is Luke Hiland. I am a Minnesota based theatre artist currently operating out of the Twin Cities.

I am deeply passionate about supporting artists and creating spaces for their work to thrive. I pursue these values both in my work as a director and as an administrator.

As an administrator I have founded and/or helped run a number of organizations. I have served on the board for Stage 2 Theatre Company for the past 3 years, during which time I have served as both its Executive Director and Production Manager separately. I also co-created an on-campus improv troupe that is still running today.

I also co-founded Big Blue Theatre, a new works theatre company in the Twin Cities dedicated to created bold, imaginative, and original works. I currently serve as its Artistic Director.

I believe in the healing power of theatre as both an individual and community experience. I deeply believe in the ability that theatre has (For both actor and audience) to teach people of all ages how to heal, and I believe that theatre can bring communities together to heal our wounds, grow closer together, and make our world a better place. Joy and Community are values very close to my heart, and things I explore in all of my work.
