What Are Residents?

Residents are resident artists who have been in 3 or more productions at Big Blue Theatre.

As part of our mission to promote bold, imaginative, and original art and artists, we like to offer those who have given Big Blue their time and talents resources to showcase their brands.

Residents are given a spot on our website to post their headshot and a link to any personal websites or media they want to advertise themselves with!

Additionally, Residents can also receive role offers for productions that may not have open auditions. Examples of this include summer stock productions or productions that don’t have a lot of rehearsal time.

A requirement for Residents is to participate in at least 1 Big Blue production a year. This could include acting in, directing, designing for, or writing a production for a Big Blue season, or even volunteering behind the scenes.

How Do I Become A Resident?

We can never have too many Residents, and are always looking for more ways to expand our community! The best way to become a Big Blue Resident is to participate in 3 or more of our productions. Once an artist has reached this threshold, an email will be sent to offer them residency.

There are no other requirements to become a Resident, and you do not need to accept residency in order to continue creating at Big Blue Theatre. We hope you will consider joining our amazing group of artists, whether you choose the path of residency or not!
